Did you ever have a day when you can barely muster the energy to battle your Anti-Muse? What’s an Anti-Muse you ask? If you are a creative type, you have undoubtedly crossed paths with your Anti-Muse. You know, when you’re feeling tired or sick or plain uninspired and a not-so-little voice in your head tells you to chuck it, forget about making any sort of art for the day. Your Anti-Muse whispers seductively that it’s only one day, that getting out your art supplies is too much trouble, or any other justification to keep you from your creative endeavors.
Now how do you deal with your Anti-Muse? Do you agree with it or ignore it? Do you let it suck all the color and creativity from your day or do you challenge it?
What if you’re a slightly insane lady who has committed to making some sort of art every day for a year?? What do you do then when you must do something arty for the day and your Anti-Muse is digging in its heels shouting, “Can’t make me. Don’t wanna. Ain’t gonna happen.”?
Well, in my case you drag your slightly insane, wheezing, sickly little self over to your art table and draw your Anti-Muse into silence! Then you post to your blog like a good girl, down a ton of vitamin C and tea and crash into bed…..
Remember, faith works!
