Working with ink and Chinese brush painting in this rice paper book is sooo addictive! I love the simple graphic quality of plain black ink. I find it odd how inkwork can be so stark and spartan yet expressive at the same time. Plus, there is the wildly unpredictable nature of this paper. I love the challenge of controlling ink and water in the brush, how slowly or quickly the brush moves on the paper– all the variables that influence how even a tiny line or dot will behave.
Have any of you out there worked with unsized rice paper? If so, how did you like the way the paper takes ink?
Remember, faith works!
