Pitcher and Basin, Art 365-16-28

For Art 365-16-28 I was playing with pen and ink and ended up with this pitcher and basin in my Pelledori.

The Midori/fauxdori insert I used is from Yellow Paper House  on Etsy.  It’s filled with watercolor paper and is pretty stout.  The pen I used is the plain black one on the left in the photo, a Daedalus from Desiderata Pen Company.  The Daedalus has a Zebra G nib- extremely flexible but very fine and sharp.  Even with all the crosshatching and inkwashing I did, the paper held up.  I am really surprised the G nib didn’t dig straight through it considering how I abused the paper.  What a pleasant surprise to not even get any shadowing on the reverse.  The paper also takes watercolor very well.  I highly recommend this insert!!

A Who Christmas Tree

While browsing on DeviantArt (not as diabolical as the name sounds- the site originally was folks who took computer applications and ‘deviated’ them from their original purpose) I found a cute stock photo by Pink-Stock  titled Whoville Tree: Adorable right?  Well, being the rabid Dr. Who fan that I am the name immediately made me […]

Closeup view of a watercolor of cattails by RaSonya Pearce

Cattail Explosion

The cattails exploding with fluffy seeds along our walking trail were so captivating that I couldn’t resist painting them– The weather here in the Midwest has been swinging wildly between bitter cold and balmy warm days.  The day I took this photo I was able to go walking in a t-shirt, in January!!! When I […]

New! Free Video- Paint Christmas Ornaments

Hi guys!  I just put up another FREE video over at the classroom. My favorite colors are blue and green so it is no surprise that I love blue Christmas ornaments.  I think they look sooo pretty against the green tree branches. I did this little painting (with some added Photoshop magic) for my Christmas […]
