Face in the Tree, Art 365-16-50

It was so nice and warm out today that I took a different, longer path for my A Pilgrim’s Draw walk.  Part of this path winds through  a shady wood.  I must have read Lord of the Rings one too many times, because I saw an Ent face in the tree suddenly peering out at me.

Do you see the face in the tree, also?  The tree didn’t look like it had been vandalized.  The features seem to be scars left over from losing limbs.  The iris/pupil of the eye is a little nubbin of a branch that has broken off.  Of course, the Ent ended up in my journal, LOL!  Who could resist recording an encounter with an Ent on their walk?

Wow! How cool is that! Isn’t it grand the things we see when we have an eye to drawing on our walks! Buen Camino!

A Who Christmas Tree

While browsing on DeviantArt (not as diabolical as the name sounds- the site originally was folks who took computer applications and ‘deviated’ them from their original purpose) I found a cute stock photo by Pink-Stock  titled Whoville Tree: Adorable right?  Well, being the rabid Dr. Who fan that I am the name immediately made me […]

Closeup view of a watercolor of cattails by RaSonya Pearce

Cattail Explosion

The cattails exploding with fluffy seeds along our walking trail were so captivating that I couldn’t resist painting them– The weather here in the Midwest has been swinging wildly between bitter cold and balmy warm days.  The day I took this photo I was able to go walking in a t-shirt, in January!!! When I […]

New! Free Video- Paint Christmas Ornaments

Hi guys!  I just put up another FREE video over at the classroom. My favorite colors are blue and green so it is no surprise that I love blue Christmas ornaments.  I think they look sooo pretty against the green tree branches. I did this little painting (with some added Photoshop magic) for my Christmas […]
